Change for the Better
“For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again.” -Francis Scott Fitzgerald
The only limits that exits are the ones we place on ourselves. It is so easy to go through life seeing the obstacles, the ‘no’s’, the limiting beliefs that something is not for us. I have found that when we desire something in our life, wether that be a new job, car, partner, emotional state, etc…this is because there is something in us calling to that place. If we are capable of creating a life we desire, then there is nothing wrong with desire. We can dream away with endless possibilities. We can start with one step at a time, one minute at a time, in the direction of our wishes, and bring them into reality. There are endless possibilities, endless starting points, and endless paths with forks in the road. To embrace this perspective, we often have to dig deep to where our limiting beliefs stem from, and heal those deep fears that kept us from showing up in our own lives. Therapy is a safe space to do this in, in addition to journaling, and asking yourself ‘what am I afraid of’ when you shrink smaller.
